Today marks the 15th anniversary of Leo Messi's bow for the Argentine national team. He has since featured in four World Cups and played in five editions of the Copa América. He is the Albiceleste's all-time leading goalscorer with 69 strikes to his name and has provided 40 assists.

The Barcelona captain will bid to secure another European last-four spot, against the German outfit on Friday.

His latest strike brings the Azulgrana captain's tally in round of 16 second leg ties in the European competition to 20 in 15 outings. In addition, he has now been on target against a total of 35 teams in the Champions League.
