His strike in the Ligue 1 Matchday 23 meeting with Lille brought his career tally to 758, a return that surpassed the 757-goal haul achieved by Pelé, who up until now had occupied the final place on the podium for the game’s all-time leading goalscorers.

The Argentine attacker completed the full 90 minutes and netted his side’s third goal of the night, whilst also teeing up Presnel Kimpembe for the Parisian outfit’s second as PSG swept Lille away in a 5-1 away triumph. This latest three points sees the Parisians tighten their grip on top spot in Ligue 1.
