Leo has been called up by Argentina for the national team’s tour against Bolivia, Burkina Faso and Benin. The Argentine star will say goodbye to his country on October 6 in the match against Benin at the Monumental in Buenos Aires. Leo has played 207 games for Argentina’s senior team, recording 125 goals and 68 assists. He also holds 6 official titles with Argentina across youth and senior levels. With the senior team he won the 2021 Copa América, the 2022 Finalissima, the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 Copa América, while at youth level he claimed the 2005 U‑20 World Cup and the 2008 Olympic gold medal. This trophy haul makes Leo the most decorated player in the history of the Argentine national team.
