LEO NETS IN 1,000TH APPEARANCE AS ARGENTINA ADVANCE TO QUARTERS

Argentina progressed to the last eight at Qatar 2022 after beating Australia 2-1 in a match in which Leo opened the scoring in his 1,000th career appearance. The Argentine has three goals to his name in this edition of the tournament and brings his tally to nine in World Cup history.
