Leo Messi has been named in the Paris Saint-Germain matchday squad for the first time since joining the club after he was included in the squad for the Ligue 1 encounter against Reims.

 

After capturing the Copa América crown, Leo Messi has once again been called up by the Argentina national team. On this occasion, the call-up is for the forthcoming Qatar World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela (3 September), Brazil (the 5th) and Bolivia (the 10th).

 

Leo Messi received a warm welcome from the Parque des Prince fans after he was presented to the Paris Saint-Germain supporters alongside the rest of the club's new recruits.

During his unveiling, Leo had the following to say: "I'm really happy. Everyone knows that my departure from Barcelona a few days ago was really tough, I'd been there for so many years and it's difficult for me to change after so long. However, no sooner had I arrived here than I felt immense joy. I'm really excited to begin training. I want all of this to be over with quickly, although I've been really enjoying things since the day I arrived alongside my family and people. I want to get down to work in training and I just can't wait to be with my teammates and the coaching staff to start what's a new chapter for my family and I. I think that this club is ready to win everything going and that's what I'm here for. I want to thank all of the fans for the warm welcome. I'm sure we're going to enjoy ourselves together."
