After the semi-final meeting against Colombia ended 1-1 in normal time, with Leo Messi providing the assist for the Albiceleste's goal, the Argentines ran out 3-2 winners in the penalty shootout. This will be the fifth final that Leo is involved in with Argentina.

Leo Messi offered his thoughts after Argentina secured their place in the Copa América semi-finals and he had the following to say: "We came out on top in a really important game. One of our objectives was to reach the final four. We now have to rest up because there isn't long until our next game. I've always said that individual prizes are secondary, we've come here to achieve something else. I want to congratulate the squad for the work that's being put in, we've now been away from our families for a long time. We've got an objective and are focused on it."
