Barcelona will this Wednesday play host to Real Sociedad in the sides' rearranged LaLiga encounter, which has been brought forward on account of the teams' involvement in the Spanish Super Cup in January.

 

Leo Messi takes his place in the Ballon d’Or Dream Team, which was announced today. Leo is the only player to have claimed six Ballons d’Or, a prize awarded by France Football.

 

After netting the goal that secured a 1-0 triumph over Levante, Leo Messi has now been involved in a total of 900 goals since his first-team debut: 642 strikes and 258 assists. Of Leo's 642 goals, 600 have come with the Azulgranas' number 10 on his back.

 

Barcelona are in LaLiga action on Sunday, when they welcome Levante to the Camp Nou. Leo Messi has had a hand in 39 goals against Los Granotas, having struck 22 times and provided 17 assists.

 

Leo Messi has shared his condolences in the wake of the passing of Alejandro Sabella, the former Argentina coach with whom he reached the 2014 World Cup final: “It was a pleasure to share so much with you. Alejandro was a great person, as well as being an impressive professional who left his mark on my career and I learned a lot from him. We enjoyed some of my best footballing memories together during the World Cup qualifying campaign and then at the World Cup. My condolences go to all of his family and friends”.

 

This Tuesday sees Barcelona bring the curtain down on their Champions League group-stage campaign. The Azulgranas have the chance to secure top spot as they welcome Juventus to the Camp Nou.
