Leo Messi has the highest rating in the WhoScored rankings as things stand in the 2019/20 campaign. The Barcelona captain has posted a score of 8.61 after having had a hand in 31 goals (19 strikes and 12 assists) in his 22 league appearances so far this term.

In addition to the 603 goals he has notched in his 687 appearances for Barcelona, the prestigious football magazine picks out several of the Barça captain's other major assets: “Not just a scorer of goals, not just a creator of chances and not just a world-class passer and dribbler, Messi is all of the above and more. Simply the best”. 

 

Three years ago today, Leo Messi fired home the winning goal just minutes before the final whistle in El Clásico against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu, a game in which Barcelona ran out 3-2 winners and Leo scored his 500th goal for Barcelona in all competitions.

 

This Saturday marks the 13th anniversary of Leo Messi's stunning strike against Getafe. The goal, which came in the semi-finals of the 2006/07 Copa del Rey campaign, saw Leo carry the ball 55 metres, beat six opponents and slot the ball home all in the space of just 12 seconds in what is considered to be one of the greatest goals in the history of the game.

 

Barça TV shared one of the first interviews that the club's channel conducted with Leo Messi. The current Barcelona skipper was 16 and a member of the Juvenil A squad when the interview, in which he spoke about his arrival at the club, role in the team and the significance of his family in his life, took place.

 

Leo Messi took to social media to share the memories of his recent trip to Dubai in his role as an Expo 2020 ambassador. During a break from training with Barcelona in February, he travelled to the United Arab Emirates to promote the event, which will take place from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021.
