Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and Nantes, French Cup holders, will lock horns on Sunday at 15:00 at Tel Aviv's Bloomfield Stadium to do battle for the first trophy of the season in the French Super Cup. This game provides Leo Messi with the chance to add another trophy to his haul with PSG.

Leo was again on target and also provided an assist in PSG's final outing in their pre-season tour of Japan in the build-up to the 2022/23 season, against Gamba Osaka. The Argentine attacker and his PSG side return from Japan with a clean sweep of wins. The team's next assignment is the first competitive game of the season, in which there is a trophy on the line: the French Super Cup final against Nantes.

PSG claimed a 2-1 win in their opening pre-season match against two-time Japanese champions Kawasaki Frontale at Tokyo's National Stadium. The Argentine played 60 minutes and opened the scoring after finding the bottom corner with a right-footed strike.

Leo Messi is now in Japan for the final stretch of pre-season. The Argentine addressed the media in a press conference, in which he commented that "the Japanese fans are really fanatical and we're keen to repay them for their support."

The Parisians are set to play three games on Japanese soil: on 20 July against Kawasaki Frontale, before meeting Urawa Red Diamonds on the 23rd and will round off the tour by taking on Gamba Osaska on the 25th.

Pre-season is now underway for Leo Messi and his PSG teammates in Paris as the preparations for the 2022/2023 campaign begin.

Leo is preparing for his second season at the club following on from his maiden campaign, which yielded the Ligue 1 title.
